New hobby discount

Cam Everside discount

Tell me you found out about this special discount and you can claim10% off  your first 5 lessons! (this doesn't include any discount for music etc) When you book your lessons tell me you read about autumn 2016 new hobby discount.

If you are a member of Cam Everside Youth Football team, or have a sibling who plays, you can have a 5% discount on your first 5 lessons.

Payment per 10 lessons: If you do not have weekly lessons (eg some adults and some older teenagers)

  • For beginners prices are set at £31/hour
  • Payment is made at the beginning of every 10 lesson tranche. Examination fees and music must be paid for in addition to lesson fees. Generally, if you have weekly lessons then after the first few weeks, when you decide if piano is for you, you move onto the new payment scheme (see below)

All children who have weekly lessons who start with Time to learn Piano from September 2014 are on this new scheme, as older students gradually move over to it. You pay a monthly or termly fee over the academic year which covers 30 minute lessons, music and examination fees:

  • Payment must be made direct by BACS and no later than the dates set out below for the academic year 2016-2017

For £890/year,

or £330 over 3 terms, to be paid on 1 September, 1 January and 1 April

or a monthly fee paid for 12 months on 1 Sept, 1 Oct, 1 Dec, 1 Jan, 1 Feb, 1 March, 1 April, 1 May, 1 June, 1 July 1 Aug) of £90

all payments to be made by BACS on the above dates

you are guaranteed your weekly slot of 30 minutes  for 35 weeks a year,

during school time,

plus you can access free lessons over the summer holidays and other breaks if you choose to, subject to me being available. (I encourage all my students to take lessons during Christmas/Easter/summer breaks if feasible to stop you going backwards!)  All your music and exam fees for one practical and one theory exam per year, will be covered in this fee

You must give at least one full calendar month's notice not later than the 1st of the month before you cease lessons (eg if you give notice on 15th October, you will have to make the November payment)   if you wish to stop lessons under this scheme. It is essential that you set up a standing order for these payments so they arrive in my account on the 1st of the month. ( I hope you'll appreciate this is essential for streamlining the administration of payments. I reserve the right to charge an administration fee of £15 each time you do not pay on time.

If you have  longer or shorter lessons, the figures will be different- please contact me for details.

  • You must give at least one full calendar month's notice if you wish to stop lessons under this scheme (see details above)

  • Prices will rise in September 2017 and you will be informed of the new prices by 31 July 2017, leaving you enough time to reschedule the payments.

Lesson Duration

  • For young children (age 7 and under)  we usually start with 15-20 minute lessons (depending on age and ability to concentrate), for older children and adults, usually 30 minutes
  • Some adults prefer to have 1 hour every few weeks, especially if they have busy lives and work commitments, in which case we fix lessons when mutually convenient rather than always at a set time.
  • This way, you don't waste your money on lessons you can't get to, and I can free up the fixed lesson times for those who can make a slot every week.

Practical Examinations 2016-2017

I put students in for exams with ABRSM, Trinity and LCM and theory exams with ABRSM and Trinity.

The prices are all about compatible with each other, what is more important is which exam is most suitable for the musician. We always consider the student's needs, interests and strengths when deciding which exam board and which exam to sit.

If you take grade 6 and above practical full exams (so leisureplay and recital for LCM, and ceritifcate exams for Trinity do not count)  and theory exams, you will be awarded UCAS points, which may be used when applying for university. Please note not all universities will accept them- the newer universities are more likely to.
